HDMI cont'd.
Remember this photo:
Shows my set up using component video connections from my Dish Receiver to our Panasonic Viera Plasma monitor. Also in the pic is the HDMI cable, the dark on the right, altho I am not using it at the moment. The big difference between the two cables, and one I failed to mention, is that you would use the HDMI to connect if you were using the TV monitor's speakers. HDMI sends uncompreseed video and audio thru the same cable. I don't use it cause I have a separate audio feed going to my AV receiver/amp. The component (RGB) signal is equal in quality to HDMI (or better). However, when I get a blu-ray dvd player I will use the HDMI cable to connect it to the TV.
