TV Stand Chosen and Ordered!

While dealing with the newly purchased TV Stand, Bell'o brand from a website dedicated to these products, StandsandMounts.com, I ran across the following story about Alaska natural gas being sold to Japan, thanks to the efforts of the "Babe of the North" Palin and fellow "country last" Republicans.

A thank you to the Oregon senator for exposing this is in order.
Interesting reading, under the heading of hypocrisy I believe.

Now, back to getting the Panasonic Plasma ready for connection to Dish Network and to discover how the 16-9 screen ratio is going work with non HDTV programming and older dvds that aren't widescreen.

While on the subject of TV stands, let me emphasize the importance of ventilation access. Most brands that I researched never even considered ventilation as an issue nor was the issue of cable access thru the back to the various shelves. I am pleased that the Brand and model we chose takes both into consideration and provides a cable management system to hopefully reduce the usual site of cables all over the place.
One thing missing from all the models we inspected was a power strip. In my opinion if the unit is specifically for AV purposes and not just a piece of furniture, it would benefit from having one source which could handle all the electrical connections from the various components. I may have to install one myself. One with a surge protector in it.

So now it's back to waiting for the promised delivery and supposedly "easy to install efforts" to finalize this process.

In the interim, I continue to study the advantages of 1080p and Blu-Ray DVDs which seems to be the viewing future.

Marv,

You'll never see a power strip in a piece of furniture and it's a liability thing. UL would never approve it. If that stand caught fire, they'd be liable for the house or worse.

I share your revulsion of the thought that the McCain/Palin administration wants to 'Explore' the ANWR for the benefit of the oil companies and not the American People.

You just can't trust a Rapepublican!!!
